Development engineer – NMGA Research & Technology New Performance Systems
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
The pre-development group NMGA Research & Technology New Performance Systems is responsible for evaluation of new advance technology regarding performance potential and challenges, main driver being the increased demand for highly efficient and sustainable propulsion systems. The work is performed as assignments within Research and Advanced Engineering in the Scania development process. Current main focus is on technologies for waste energy recovery and to investigate opportunities with increased electrification of the powertrain and combustion engine to find the most sustainable and efficient propulsion system solutions. We are a small team of 6 dedicated people. The work is generally very cross functional within Scania but also includes cooperation’s and joint projects with our strategic partners as well as it includes collaborations in research projects performed at universities.
One of our team members is leaving for new challenges and we are now looking for a development engineer to support our efforts in evaluation of powertrains with clean high efficiency combustion engines in combination with increased electrification of the powertrain. Focus is on evaluations with a simulation based approach but also experimental evaluations might be part of the work from time to time.
You have a M.Sc. degree or post graduate studies within physics, electronics or mechanical engineering. Work experience from the field of powertrains with combustion engines and/or electrical propulsion is desired. Experience from industry standard modeling tools such as GT-suite is desired and experience from experimental work and measurement techniques is a merit.
As a person you are structured and have the ability to work independently while at the same time you like working with others and are driven by an inspiring climate with many talented colleagues around you. You are engaged, curious and have the ability and will to bring new ideas and achieve results. A sound analytical approach to any problem is desirable.
Fluent in spoken and written English is mandatory. Swedish language skills are not mandatory, but an ambition to learn the language is essential.
